Stuart attending the BNI Awards Breakfast
On Friday, March 20th, I had the opportunity of attending the Brisbane North and Central BNI Awards Breakfast alongside my fellow members of BNI Gateway. Events like this are always a highlight on the calendar. It’s not just for the recognition. It’s for the opportunity to bring together an incredible network of professionals under one roof.
There’s something genuinely special about reconnecting with people you haven’t seen in a while. In the day-to-day rhythm of business, it’s easy to stay focused on your immediate circle. Having the chance to catch up, share stories, and celebrate each other’s wins was a powerful reminder of what makes the BNI community so unique.
Recognizing Excellence: The MVP Award
Throughout the year, BNI groups across the nation invited their members to nominate individuals in their chapter for the ‘Most Valuable Player’ (MVP) award. This is an acknowledgment of those who consistently go above and beyond to support others and contribute to their chapter. It also recognizes those who embody the core values of BNI (Givers Gain, Building Relationships, Lifelong Learning, Traditions and Innovation, Positive Attitude, Accountability and Recognition). To be nominated alongside four other highly respected and deserving members was, in itself, an honor. I did not take it lightly.
I’d also like to take this moment to give a well-deserved “tip of the hat” to my fellow nominees, Dana Hartley (Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate), Martin McDonald (Table Consulting) and Nick Steiner (The Mini Farm Project). Each of these individuals brings something truly unique to our group. They consistently contribute to the strength and success of our chapter. To be recognized alongside such high-caliber professionals made the experience all the more meaningful.
To then be announced as the recipient of the MVP award was something I’m incredibly proud of. Recognition like this isn’t just about individual effort. It reflects the strength of the relationships I have built, the trust I have developed, and the collective commitment to helping one another grow.

More Than Just Business
BNI has always been about more than just business for me. It’s about community, consistency, and contribution. This award serves as both a milestone in my professional development and a motivator. It’s a reminder to continue showing up, adding value, and supporting those around me.
A big thank you to everyone who has been part of my journey so far. I look forward to what’s ahead and continuing to grow alongside such an inspiring network.
