Meet Steve or as the Allure team have lovingly nicknamed him – Nutbar. Nutbar has been a part of the Allure family coming up to 4 years now, first joining in July of 2022. He is a Brisbane Southside based technician that specializes in Termites including Termite Inspections, Termite Treatments and Termite Management Systems. With the team, he is known to be kindhearted, funny and a genuine animal lover.

Education & Industry Training

Steve is a licensed Pest Management Technician and is qualified in both General & Timber Pests. This means he’s a trained professional who can identify, manage and prevent pest problems in homes, businesses, and industrial sites. Over his time with Allure (formerly Conquer Termites Northside), he has developed a specialty in Termite Management. When asked what he enjoys most about the industry, Steve said:

“There’s something incredibly satisfying about tracking down the source of an infestation and putting the right plan in place to protect a home. Problem solving is what keeps me motivated, and termites definitely keep me on my toes.”

Even now, Steve is continuing to expand his knowledge by completing his Certificate III in Urban Pest Management. This is a nationally recognized qualification for the Australian Pest Control Industry and gives a broader knowledge of Pests and how to safely manage them.

At Allure, ongoing education is incredibly important to us. Our technicians are accredited in many of the professional treatment products that we use such as Termidor, Trelona, Selontra, Seclira. These accreditations ensure our technicians maintain a high understanding of product application standards, safety, and treatment effectiveness. We are also a proud member of our peak industry body, AEPMA (Australian Environmental Pest Management Association) which provides us Codes of Practice and Standards to abide by: https://aepma.com.au/

When our technicians aren’t getting accredited or treating pests, we have monthly toolbox meetings. Where our technicians discuss industry news, products, pest trends and ongoing technical training. This is to keep everyone up to date with the latest developments in the pest industry.

A little more about Nutbar

Now to answer your burning question, why do they call Steve Nutbar?

Well, after bringing Nut Bars for lunch several days in a row, the nickname stuck… and it’s safe to say it isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

Steve is a proud Redlands local, having grown up in Victoria Point and Thornlands area. In his early twenties, he spent some time travelling but eventually found himself drawn back to the beautiful Redlands Coast. Now living in Alexandra Hills, Steve enjoys being able to provide termite and pest management services to the local community he has always called home. Being familiar with the area and the pest pressures common to South-East Queensland gives him a strong understanding of how to best help local homeowners protect their properties.

Outside of work he enjoys listening to and making music, going to concerts and collecting vinyl records. Most importantly, he spends quality time with his wife and animal family. This includes two dogs, Butters the Chihuahua and Neo the Mini Foxie, along with a very chunky orange cat named Cheezle.

We’re proud to have Steve as part of the Allure team and appreciate the knowledge, dedication, and personality he brings to both our customers and workplace every day.
