This week the Allure Pest Solutions team visited beautiful Burleigh Heads!
Burleigh Heads has long shaken off its image as a sleepy surf village but locals still claim it’s best enjoyed barefoot with a coffee in hand. Once a haven for van-lifers and soul surfers, the suburb’s blend of beachside charm and rainforest-laced headland has earned it cult status among Gold Coast dwellers. Unfortunately for our crew, it was all business that day! Surfboards packed away, board shorts swapped for overalls, and straight to work we went!
First we visted Pimpama for a Pre-purchase Timber Pest Inspection – you can read more about our pre-purhase timber pest inspection services here. Then we hit the road and conducted two termite inspections and general pest control services in Burleigh Heads.

Did you know this about Burleigh Heads?
Metric Rating (1 Low – 10 High)
6 Forestry index – Burleigh Heads balances coastal urbanisation with lush greenery. Burleigh Head National Park provides dense native vegetation and habitat for wildlife, while residential streets maintain moderate tree cover.
9 Water index – With its iconic surf break, direct access to the Pacific Ocean, and the calm waters of Tallebudgera Creek nearby, Burleigh enjoys a deeply entrenched coastal identity, ideal for both marine biodiversity and recreation.
5 Paperbark index – Paperbark trees are scattered throughout wetland-adjacent areas and parks such as Burleigh Lake and nearby natural corridors, though less dominant compared to other native species.
6 Gumtree index – Eucalyptus species are moderately present, especially in bushland zones like the headland and fringes of David Fleay Wildlife Park. They contribute to both ecological diversity and the classic Aussie scent in the air.
7 Density – Burleigh Heads has experienced increased densification, especially in beachside zones with low-rise apartments and townhouses. The inland areas remain more suburban in nature.
Developed 1970–2000: This era marked Burleigh’s evolution from a beach getaway to a bustling suburb. Tourist infrastructure, residential estates, and conservation initiatives all shaped its modern form — without losing its laidback, coastal soul.
