A Termatrac is an Australian-designed tool made specifically to detect termites before any visible signs appear. It combines three key features: radar, a moisture meter, and a thermal laser.
Thermal Imaging Camera:
Thermal imaging is used to pick up on subtle heat differences inside walls, ceilings, and floors. Because termites generate heat as they move in large numbers, our cameras help identify areas of high activity that would otherwise go unnoticed.
Moisture Meter:
Moisture attracts termites. Our technicians use handheld moisture meters to assess the levels within timber, walls, and other materials. Elevated moisture levels may indicate leaks, damp areas, or concealed termite activity—all of which can lead to costly structural issues if left unchecked.
Tapping Tools & Listening Device:
Traditional methods still play a key role in termite detection. At Allure Pest Solutions, we use tapping tools to identify hollow timbers, a common sign of internal damage, and acoustic devices to pick up the faint sounds termites make inside walls.
Inspection Probes & Borescopes:
In some cases, we use specialised tools to assess areas that are otherwise difficult to inspect. Probes help us test the integrity of timber and detect hidden damage, while borescopes—small inspection cameras—allow us to see inside tight spaces without needing to dismantle walls. These are particularly useful for examining subfloors, roof voids, and wall cavities.
