Every month Allure Pest Solutions highlights a charity or community program to bring awareness and support and this month, June, is just the same. Our General Pest Control & Termite Management Technician, Steve, has decided to highlight the Animal Welfare League QLD (AWLQ).

What is the Animal Welfare League QLD?

The Animal Welfare League QLD is an organisation dedicated to helping abandoned, surrendered and lost animals a second chance since 1959. They provide animals with love, medical care, grooming and support while they wait for their forever homes. With AWLQ you can adopt pets from one of the many animal rehoming centres across Queensland. The foster care program allows them to take animals who are currently ill, too young or not ready to join the animal rehoming program. They also offer affordable community veterinary services, helping owners not have to go through the difficult decision of rehoming or euthanising their pets due to not being able to afford treatment. In 2024, AWLQ states they have rehomed 7,311 animals and provided 11,283 animals a safe haven.

If you want to support the Animal Welfare League QLD

The simplest way to support is to donate what you can on their website or spread awareness about their cause. There are many other ways you can support like donating or shopping at one of their op shops located across gold coast, beaudesert and ipswich. You can leave a gift in your will, organise workplace giving, fundraise or look into sponsorship opportunities.

Volunteering is a wonderful hands-on way to make a difference. You can foster pets, work in the op shops, and assist in events. If you are looking for more behind the scenes you can volunteer with transportation, marketing and office support.

Why Steve chose AWLQ

Steve has a big heart for animals. His favourite part of the day is getting to give some attention to the pets he meets on the job. It is not unusual for him to call the office to let them know he has stopped to help a loose dog on the road and help it find its way back to its family.

That is why Steve fits in with Allure Pest Solutions so well. Allure understands that pets are family and customers want pet safety when getting General Pest Control. We aim to make sure we are following all safety procedures, using the right treatments, and providing tailored treatments for your home.
