The Allure Charity Spotlight for September: Nepal Flood Relief

This month, our Allure Charity Spotlight is shining a light on the Nepal Red Cross Society and the important work being carried out to support communities affected by the recent floods in Nepal.

We were inspired to highlight this cause after seeing the team at Dayboro Bakery putting out a donation jar to raise money for the Nepal Red Cross. It was a great reminder that even a simple gesture can give people the opportunity to come together and help others in need.

The floods in Nepal

On 26 August 2026, severe flash floods affected parts of northern Nepal, causing significant damage to homes, roads and bridges.

Thousands of people have been affected by the flooding, with some communities facing damage to essential infrastructure and difficulties accessing basic services.

For families who have lost homes, belongings or access to essential services, support is needed not only during the immediate emergency but also throughout the recovery process.

The Nepal Red Cross response

The Nepal Red Cross Society has been working on the ground to support people affected by the floods, alongside the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

Their response includes providing essential supplies and support such as:

• Clean drinking water
• Emergency shelter
• Healthcare
• First aid
• Sanitation and hygiene support
• Blankets and other essential household items
• Support for communities affected by damaged infrastructure.
